A letter from Our Director

It’s about our people

At the heart of our company is our people – our internal team, our nurses and midwives that represent Affinity, our health department and private clients, and the culture that brings us together.

To our nurses and midwives – your trust and support have been the biggest driver to our continued growth and success. The Affinity Team is continuously enriched by the nurses and midwives we have met and work with at our client facilities.

To our internal team – to be successful in business for 20 years requires talented, passionate, caring people. Your willingness to give of yourselves and help each other is special and admired.

Exciting Future

We started with a few but now we are many, not only in numbers but also in talents, dedication, integrity and innovation.

Together with each one of our nurses, midwives and our clients, we continue on our journey of fostering partnerships to contribute to our ultimate goal of better healthcare for all.

We will remain committed to exceptional service and to living our core values. We will retain our staunch commitment to quality, uphold our high standards of ethics, and the value we put on relationships.

Tracing our 20 year voyage

2003 – 2006

Director Helen Taylor launched Affinity Nursing from her humble shed in Brisbane, laying the foundation for Affinity’s future growth.

Within three years of establishment, we have expanded our services from a single state to six, expertly meeting the staffing needs across diverse facilities.

2007 – 2010

Affinity’s growth momentum surged as we ventured into the ACT while concurrently solidifying a lasting partnership with the NT Health Department.

Our National Workforce Manager came on board in 2007 and has remained an integral part of Affinity, exemplifying the long-standing dedication of our internal staff.

2011 – 2014

Our rapid growth extended both externally and internally, leading to enduring partnerships with health departments in QLD, NSW and WA.

We are proud to have nurtured long-standing relationships with these departments and with the five internal staff who joined over this period and remain with us to today.

We also marked another noteworthy event by making our first social media post!

2015 – 2018

We secured our partnership with the TAS Health Department as a sole provider of nursing and midwifery staff, and simultaneously expanded our specialised internal teams.

Our ongoing efforts in donations and charitable initiatives continued as we raised funds for Breast Cancer through the Breast Ever Brunch event.

2019 – 2022

The debut of our photo calendar, showcasing the breathtaking landscapes of regional, rural and remote Australia through the eyes of our dedicated nurses and midwives.

Throughout the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, we reaffirmed our commitment to Australia’s healthcare system, offering unwavering support to our dedicated nurses and midwives by introducing the industry’s first non-profit operation and setting a new standard for excellence in our field.

In 2021, we commemorated a milestone as we achieved a record number of nurses and midwives serving communities nationwide. This year also saw RN Suzie and RN Judy celebrating their 15th and 10th years with us, showcasing the longevity of our devoted nursing and midwifery team.

2023

We gather to reflect and appreciate where the past 20 years have taken us, and above all, the extraordinary care that Affinity nurses and midwives bring to Australian communities.

To accommodate our rapidly growing internal team, we moved into a brand-new office.

RN Richard commemorates an impressive 15 years of dedicated service with us, exemplifying the enduring dedication of our team.

As we look ahead, we remain steadfast in our commitment to Australia’s healthcare system, and look forward to the positive impact we will continue to make in the lives of those we serve.

See how Affinity has helped our nurses and midwives achieved their career and personal goals

I set out to explore the country and expand my clinical nursing skills a year and a half ago. Taking the leap to work regionally and travel the country has exceeded my expectations of what I can achieve both in my profession and personal life. I am so grateful of the experiences, people and work I have gained through working with Affinity. Quotation mark

– RN Laura

Serving through cultural diversity, Affinity became my vessel to share and further develop my skills in delivering quality health care to remote areas. Being away from home, I discovered my innate skills of adaptation to any environment and the warm weather of Australia. Quotation mark

– RN Kim

Affinity has been supportive and encouring. They are always sending out emails with jobs that are available and are always there to help when you need support. I have loved working with affinity, the hustle for you and always do their best to secure you the contracts you want. Quotation mark
