Rockhampton: Located in Central Queensland along the Fitzroy River, 640 kilometres North of Brisbane. Your Affinity mission if you choose to accept it; find and take a snap at the six big bull statues around the town. No bull, there’s legitimately six of them! On a more serious note, Rockhampton has some great food places to check out next time you find yourself working in the Beef Capital of Australia.
A restaurant and a brewery in one. Just check out their three mouth-watering menus. It’s a new joint to Rocky and is nothing short of absolutely stunning inside. We have massive FOMO from their Instagram and Facebook. My pick would be the 12 hour slow cooked lamb shoulder with truffle hollandaise, jus and your choice of 3 sides. If anyone tries it, let us know!
A stellar breakfast and coffee spot. Even the fussiest of coffee snobs will enjoy their brew! Breakfast menu includes trendy food items such as acai bowls, bagels, everything Instagram worthy. Check it out today.
Located on the ground floor of a hotel building, it may be easy to miss Café Bliss. But it is well worth a look in. Café Bliss serves classic breakfast, lunch and dinner dishes including a great tapas menu in the evening. A special mention to the Chocolate pudding which is served with peanut butter, caramel & macadamia ice cream, peanut snap, toffee shards, a rich chocolate sauce and topped off with a vanilla bean analgise. I’m sold.
Pacino’s Italian Restaurant
Pacino’s is a family owned and operated restaurant that has been running for 30 years, with plenty of menu options that would make Nonna proud. Heard from a reliable source- Pacino’s have the best spaghetti and meatballs! The source also claimed they were so good that he’d consider moving to Rockhampton. For us, that’s a serious statement.
The Great Western Hotel (Pub & Steakhouse)
This pub hosts free live bull riding every Wednesday & Friday. If this doesn’t make you feel like you’re in Rocky, then nothing will. Enjoy a steak from the Beef Capital itself and enjoy the night of entertainment. It would be rude not to.
