Squid fishing, the Bunyip, and… a prison? We asked our consultants to reflect on 2024 and to divulge the most surprising location one of their candidates visited this year. Have a read below and perhaps you’ll add some more spots to your 2025 bucket list. You can also watch the video we put together to hear their full thoughts!

Josh (Placements Team Leader)

Tully, Queensland

Tully is situated right in between Cairns and Townsville, about an hour from each side. This underrated tropical location is the rainiest place in Queensland (and Australia!) and is home to one of the largest sugar mills in the country. If that wasn’t sweet enough, you can also go and get a pic with the golden gumboot!

Emma (Placements Team Leader)

Ceduna, South Australia

Endless piers and plenty of squid fishing! This town shines like a sapphire during the day and gleams like a ruby as the sun goes down. Regarded as a popular pitstop west of the Eyre Pininsula and east of the Great Australian Bight, why not dip your toes in the water for a longer stay?

Sammy (Placement Specialist)

Arriga, Queensland

Sammy’s nurse fancied a contract at the Lotus Glen Correctional Centre. Turns out a prison is great if you’re after a change of pace!

Elise (Placement Specialist)

Coober Pedy, South Australia

The home of the opal is one of Australia’s most unique places to visit. Not only is it the underground home of this precious gem, but it’s also the underground home of more than half the town’s population. Think of it like Australia’s version of Hobbit holes.

Crystal (Placement Specialist)

Miles, Queensland

Sometimes, it’s the small towns that leave the biggest impressions. Crystal’s nurse enjoyed a very supportive atmosphere in this classic country town.

Brittany (Placement Specialist)

Murray Bridge, South Australia

You’d assume everything about this picturesque riverside town is normal, with its supportive ward culture, river cruises, and classic South Australia wineries in the area. That is, of course, until you come across the Bunyip lurking in the depths of the Murray!

You can catch our consultants talking about their picks below!
