There’s no other feeling like having every box ticked and all your documents neatly filed and ready to go. But how can you easily achieve this peace-of-mind while on the road or between contracts?

Unlike most other agencies, Affinity Nursing has an experienced credentialing team, who specialise in making sure you have what you need to get the job!

And while your dedicated credentialing specialist will always be in your corner, there are plenty of steps you can take to ensure nothing stops you getting the roles you want. We’ve put together some nurse paperwork tips for you to consider.

Tips and tricks to sort out your travel nurse paperwork

  1. 🎁Complete your onboarding pack when registering with Affinity and keep this updated throughout your contracts. This ensures a smoother process in the long-term as the onboarding packs cover the basic health facility requirements Australia-wide.
  2. 🧑‍💼 Certify your nursing or midwifery qualifications and your personal identification documents through a Justice of the Peace (JP). Call your credentialing specialist beforehand to check you have the right documents ready.
  3. Bring your original IDs along with you on contract. If you need to apply for a Working with Children Check (WWCC) for your contract, you’ll likely need to present original documentation.
  4. 🌈 Have all your documentation in coloursome facilities do not accept documents in black and white.
  5. 💉 Booking a doctor’s appointment? Call your credentialing specialist! Get your serology taken at the same time and get tested for Hep B, MMR, Varicella, TB and Hep A.
  6. ✈️ Tell your Recruitment/Placement Consultant and your credentialing specialist of any specific locations you want to work in. They can then flag any extra requirements early!
  7. 📄 Request copies of your statements of service from your previous employees ASAP. Receiving these can take time—you want to have them ready for whenever you are submitted for roles.
  8. 💾 Buy a USB and store digital copies of all your documentation on it. Bring it on contract just in case!

And of course, the best thing about having a dedicated credentialing specialist with Affinity is that you can call them at any time if you are feeling stressed, confused, or unsure about documentation. They are there to answer any questions you may have!
